Overview

The Division of Allergy, Immunology, Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at Children’s Mercy Kansas City is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible staff allergist to join our team in the Allergy and Immunology Section. Academic appointments are through the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Medicine. The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide clinical care and coverage for pediatric allergy/immunology patients; and to teach fellows, residents, and medical students. Opportunity and time is available to pursue clinical or basic science research interests. Our clinical team is comprised of eight physicians, four fellows-in-training, four nurse practitioners, and a large ancillary staff who provide high-quality care to our patients, offer excellent education to our residents and fellows, and advance our understanding of allergic and immunologic disorders through research.

The Division fosters a collaborative research environment characterized by projects that span multiple subspecialties and range in scope from basic to clinical and applied research. Members of our faculty possess a broad range of expertise from basic immunology to clinical trials and epidemiology and are recipients of extramural research funding from the NIH, the EPA, and HUD. The section also has an active clinical pharmacology research program and participates in industry sponsored clinical trials from Phase I through Phase IV.
